Project Lead

The LGBT Network's Project LEAD is a 3-day interactive and engaging workshop for LGBTQ and Ally youth ages 13-21 years old from 2pm-4pm on Monday August 10th, Wednesday August 12th, Friday August 14th

LGBT Network staff will work with the future LEADers on the skills necessary to become advocates and create change in their schools and communities. LEAD strives to empower, educate, and inspire young people to Change the World!

15 young people will be selected for this unique and valuable experience.  Participants will receive a certificate of completion, an opportunity to participate as leaders & influencers in many of the LGBT Network’s other wonderful youth programs, We anticipate this will not only be a transformational experience for participants, but a great resume and college application builder.

 Project LEAD’s workshops will cover:

  • History of activism and social movements
  • Current social justice issues
  • Advocacy 101
  • LGBT 101
  • LGBT History 
  • Being an ally
  • Safety 
  •  Starting or Strengthening a GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance or Gay-Straight Alliance) club
  • Leadership skills
  • Self-care
